My Story...

I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Tulane University, my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University and post graduate work at Newport Psychoanalytic Institute where I earned my certificate in Dynamic Psychotherapy. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC85169) and have been working in the mental health field for fifteen year.

I received my training at the Straight Talk Clinic, a community mental health clinic in Cypress, Ca, the Brea and Los Alamitos school districts, Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists and ATP clinical research. My training has involved working with individuals, couples, adolescents, children and groups with a variety of different presenting problems.

I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic and Interpersonal psychotherapy models and draw from these models to assist clients in meeting their treatment goals. I have also received additional training from the Gottman Institute which informs much of my work with couples.

After the birth of my first child I developed postpartum depression. This was a double blow as my pregnancy did not come easily. This experience as well as the profound and life changing experience of becoming a mother have inspired me to focus much of my clinical training and work on hopeful, expecting and current mothers and their families.

I have completed advance maternal mental health training thru Postpartum Support International, the Seleni Institute and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicines Asher Center for the Study and Treatment of Depressive Disorders.
